IRELAND’ s Olympic-nominated show jumper Greg Broderick is to auction a three-parts brother to his Rio mount MHS Going Global in aid of two charities next week.

The colt foal is out of Broderick’s Ballypatrick Flight, who is a half-sister to MHS Going Global. The foal is by Quidam Junior, sire of MHS Going Global.

It is hoped the Irish Sport Horse foal foal could raise in excess of €30,000 or even more for two charities – the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation and Our Lady's Children's Hospital,Crumlin.

The auction will take place as part of an elite youngstock sale during Bolesworth CSI ****, which begins next Thursday in the spectacular grounds of Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire, England.

The auction will take place on Friday evening, June 17th, when a total of 14 lots will be presented a tBolesworth. For all auction enquiries, call the Bolesworth office on 0044 (0)1829 307676.

THE CHARITIES

Founded by Jonathan Irwin, the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage up to the age of four who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. It also provides end of life care to all children up to the age of four.

Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin in Dublin is Ireland's largest paediatric hospital and has been caring for Ireland's sick children since 1956. It has almost 1,200 staff and 243 beds, all dedicated to the care of children.

THE FOAL

The bay colt foal to be auctioned is out of Ballypatrick Flight, a 2002 mare bred by the late Mrs Ita Brennan in Co Kilkenny and a national champion as a seven-year-old.

The foal is by Quidam Junior, whose son MHS Going Global was on the winning Aga Khan Nations Cup team at Dublin 2015 and has just been named as Ireland’s sole show jumper to compete at Rio 2016.

The foal’s half-brother, a bay colt by Elvis Ter Putte, was sold at the Irish Breeders Classic/Goresbridge Select Sale of Show Jumpers in Barnadown last year for the top price of €22,000.

Later named BP Limitless, the Evis Ter Putte foal was bought by agent Ronnie Kelly on behalf of Tipperary international show jumper Shane Breen.
