THE Gordon Elliott-trained Battleoverdoyen tops the list of northern-bred winners in the period under review with the six-year-old Doyen gelding making it two for two over fences with his impressive victory at Punchestown on Sunday in the Grade 2 novice chase.

Having started his career landing a Loughanmore maiden under Mark O’Hare when trained by Jerry Cosgrave for Michael Lynch, the bay is now the winner of five of his six races on the track including a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Naas. Battleoverdoyen was bred in Dromore by Caroline Berry out of the Sillery mare Battle Over.
