GORDON Elliott used this meeting to introduce quite a nice type in Call Me Lyreen who made a successful racecourse debut in the first division of the two-mile maiden hurdle.

The Lyreen Syndicate-owned son of Court Cave travelled nicely through this race for Keith Donoghue and looked a likely winner from some way out. He didn’t jump the second last well just as he took over in front and nor was he fluent at the final flight but this mattered little as the 4/1 chance only needed to be pushed out to prevail by an easy five lengths.
