SO the BHA got it wrong. As expected, the Appeals Panel on Thursday found that Declan Lavery should not have not have been hit with a 10-day by the BHA on the grounds of riding “contrary to the horse’s welfare” for his ride on Jerrysback in the National Hunt Chase.

The BHA do not have the best of records in getting their decisions right first time but they are not exclusive in that among regulatory bodies – the FA get it wrong, VAR gets it wrong, the GAA get it wrong, the IFA get it wrong, our IHRB get it wrong – it happens.
