IF EVER ever a man was suited to being a racecourse manager, it is Andrew Hogan. His grandfather bred Glencaraig Lady, who won the Gold Cup in 1972 when ridden by Frank Berry.

His father Tom trained Silver Jaro to win the County Hurdle under the recently-retired Noel Fehily in 2008, conditioned the likes of Native Sparkle, Common World, Kalderon, Premier Victory and Mount Helicon to graded or group victory over obstacles and on the level, but is best known for expertly guiding the glittering career of globetrotting Group/Grade 1 winner, Gordon Lord Byron.
