KIWI rider Tim Price showed exactly why he is the current world number one when, despite at one stage losing a stirrup and a rein in the country, he swept aside the field in a competitive George Mernagh CCI4*-S.

In pole position from flag fall, Price and the feisty mare Ascona M unanimously impressed Ground Jury members Tim Downes, Annabel Scrimgeour and Dane Rawlings to score 25.9, a figure to which they ultimately had the luxury of adding a few penalties for time.
