SWISS-based Kildare rider Niall Talbot placed fifth in Sunday’s 1.50m Grand Prix at the three-star show in Arezzo, Italy with the chesnut gelding Nicos De La Cense. The competition was won by Russia’s Natalia Belova and Cosimo, who were one of only three double clear rounds.

Earlier in the week at Arezzo, Kildare’s Nicola FitzGibbon took third place in the six-year-old class with Vague des Monceaux. Irish riders were also in action at the Italian two-star show in Gorla Minore, where Mark McAuley grabbed a win in Sunday’s 1.40m speed class with the 10-year-old Romantica la Tuilere, while fellow Irishman Damien Dixon finished fifth with Ravissante Du Reverdy.
