CATHAL Daniels is doing a lot of show jumping these days but has plenty of ammunition when it comes to event horses, having four established rides on Saturday at Tyrella and five youngsters on Wednesday at Wexford Equestrian. He partnered a winner at both venues.

The Kildare-based Galway native rode four horses in the five-year-old section at the fourth round of the Stepping Stones to Success league, two mares and two geldings, and it was the Dutch Warmblood gelding Jakarlos DHI who topped the scores on 220.5 points. “He was just broken when we bought him in Holland last summer and we have been taking him along slowly,” said Daniels who will be show jumping this weekend while many of his Wednesday rivals will be in Ballindenisk.
