ALWAYS one of the best attended fixtures of the year, last Friday’s sale of Irish Draughts delivered a number of healthy prices, but struggled to make an impact overall.

Although the figures illustrated a marginal improvement from 12 months ago, the demand was patchy and especially in the foal sector. At the close of play, 58% (57% in 2023) of the 95 lots on offer changed hands, leading to an average of €2,106 in comparison to €1,983 last year.
