UNIQUE OCCASION

Glanbia Group chairman, Henry Corbally commented: “We are delighted to partner with Alltech, Grant Thornton and The Irish Field to host the Equine Summit, a unique occasion to bring together the thoroughbred and sporthorse sides of the equine industry. The event reinforces GAIN’s commitment to the equine industry, while supporting our customers and the industry at large.”

Founder and President of Alltech, Dr. Pearse Lyons, added: “Ever since Alltech sponsored the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 in Kentucky, I have been curious about what the Irish equine industry could do and I hope the Equine Summit will address new opportunities for this industry. I look forward to speaking at this gathering, which will facilitate open discussion and drive disruptive thinking for the future of the equine industry.”

Leo Powell, Editor of The Irish Field, said: “The importance of both the thoroughbred and sporthorse sectors to Ireland’s economy is incalculable.

“Together they are worth some €2.5 billion and provide huge direct and secondary employment throughout the island. This makes it a vital component of both the agricultural and agri-related sectors and this summit will highlight that importance to a wider audience.”

Sasha Kerins, Tax Partner at Grant Thornton added: “Grant Thornton are delighted to be involved in this inaugural Equine Summit through which we aim to provide industry led insights to our clients and contacts across both the thoroughbred and sporthorse sectors.”
