THE Showjumping Ireland Connaught Region hosts the TRI Equestrian National Amateur Championships 2023 at Duffy’s Equestrian Centre next weekend, (July 15th and 16th).

This popular event is due to run as follows:

Saturday, July 15th:

Class 1: Welcome Stakes - Prize fund: €900

Class 2: Mini Grand Prix (Farmers Journal Qualifier for A riders) (FINAL of the Beyond Beauty Skin & Laser Clinic Connaught Amateur League) - Prize fund: €1,000

Class 3: The Martin Flesk Heating and Plumbing Derby (over two arenas). Prize fund: €600.

Sunday, July 16th:

Class 1: Welcome Stakes - Prize fund: €900

Class 2: The Plusvital Power and Speed - Prize fund: €800

Class 3: The Honeycomb Solutions Grand Prix (incorporating the NAPS/ Orchard Equestrian League) - Prize fund: €1,200

The winner of each section in every class will receive a rug. Total prize fund value €7,500.

Champions

Three National Champions will be decided and awarded the following: Sports Member Champion: Rosette, Sash, Trophy, Rug and €500 voucher.

A Champion: Rosette, Sash, Trophy, Rug and €500 voucher.

AA Champion: Rosette, Sash, Trophy, Rug and €500 voucher.

A Champion and AA Champion - Highest horse/rider combination from best four scores (the highest Welcome Stakes from one day only to count) across the weekend (in the event of a tie, highest placed combination from the Grand Prix on Sunday will be Champion).

Sports Member Champion - Highest horse/rider combination from both Welcome Stakes classes, in the event of a tie, highest placed on Sunday will be Champion.
