THE horses chosen to represent the Irish studbooks at the FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses have been named and all bar one are Irish Sport Horses.
The Championship will be held at Le Lion D’Angers from the October 19th to 22nd.
The six-year-olds selected include Diamond Mistress (ISH bred by Kate Jarvey, ridden by Sian Coleman), Greenogue Gigi (ISH, Con McCarthy/Ian Cassells) and Strangford (ISH, Dorothea Wilson/Stephen Smith).
The seven-year-old’s include Danos Lola (ISH, Julie Dennehy/Alyssa O’Neill), Drumnaconnell Kobie (ISH, Lawrence Patterson/Clare Abbott), Granny Jeans Unicorn (ISH, Sara Glynn), Kilroe Frolic (ISH, Sean Barron/Sian Coleman), Loughview Commander (ISH, Judith Sossick/Suzanne Hagan), MGH Zabaione (ISH, Padraig McCarthy), Milchem Miami (ISH, RC Equine Ltd/Godfrey Gibbons), Millridge Athos (ISH, Kieran Savage/Ian Cassels), Sligo Just Touch (ISH, Padraig Howley/Georgie Goss), The Sequel (DSP, U Hans von Scheni/Heidi Hamilton).
Horse Sport Ireland Head of Breeding, Innovation and Development, Sonja Egan, congratulated all competing combinations, owners, and breeders on their selection.
“Irish breeders have a long and successful history of breeding eventing horses, the Irish Sport Horse studbook have maintained a leading ranking in the eventing studbook rankings for 26 out of the 28 years that they have been established.
“I wish to thank Dag Albert and the HSI team for their work to date with these combinations.”
