CREEVAGH Carisma and Annabel Shields continued their run of good form, when taking the win in last Sunday’s 1.40m Grand Prix at the May Horse Championships in Cavan.

Owned by the rider, and bred by Ronnie Hollinger, the 14-year-old mare is by Camiro de Haar Z, out of Creevagh Duca Di Clover.

Some 27 starters lined out for the class, which offered a €2,000 prize fund. Just seven riders managed to keep a clean sheet through the first round to progress to the timed decider. Two combinations collected a single time fault, while eight had one fence down for four faults.

Shields proved fastest in the jump-off, stopping the clock at 42.08 to secure the victory.

Jonathan Smyth and Richard Smyth’s home-bred nine-year-old mare Mulvin Cliodam (Luidam x HHS BR Charlton) took the runner-up spot, crossing the finish line in 43.19.

Hadley Sport Horses’ stallion HSH Harper Du Seigneur (Aganix Du Seigneur x Chippison), owned, ridden and bred by Sven Hadley, slotted into third in 46.56.

Abby Morton guided her mother Joanne’s Blueoak Legaland (Diamant de Semilly x Clinton), bred by Joe Reilly, into fourth place, while Judith Dunlop’s Gidion B with Jenny Dunlop in the saddle finished in fifth.

Annie Courtney Cadam on board her mother Linda’s LCC Emerald Vigo (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Emerald Innovative), bred by Donnacha Quinn, completed the line up in sixth place.
