SATURDAY’S Irish Masters was sponsored by Eglinton Equestrian Club and supported by Electro-Tech Machinery, Roxborough Residential, Agon Ltd and Castle Irvine to the tune of €3,000.

Nine of the 20 starters made it through to the timed decider where each rider nominated a fence to be increased in height for their round.

By the competition’s end it was Katie Nallon riding Sandra Nallon’s Javas True Colours who came out on top for first place and the lion’s share of the prize pot.

Second went to Dominic Rice’s home-bred Premier Spirit (Premier Sport x Hermes de Reve), ridden by Jonathan Smyth.

Third was Gelvin Rock (Gelvin Clover x Touchdown), bred, ridden and owned by Katie Scott. Eric Smith and his own Tynan Ferro (S Creevagh Ferro x Hermes de Reve), bred by Marshall Jenkinson, were fourth.

Fifth went to Shane McClockey and his second mount Coolturk Prestige (Bentley Van De Heffinck x Lux Z), while sixth was Kevin Mackey riding Gerard McMullan’s Dutch-bred Edelboy Vd Renger.
