SUNDAY’S classes, which were sponsored by Show jumping Ireland, attracted big numbers in each height category. The 138cm division was first into the arena on Sunday morning, as they contested the 138cm 90cm class. Isibéal Conway Kelly added to her winnings as she claimed this class with Tara when double clear in 21.84. Ellie Condon took the runner-up spot with Carnhill Rascal when they came home with nothing to add in 24.69. Munster rider Sawl Ladd Fin and Carnaween Max slotted into third, when clear in 25.35.

Not content with the win in the earlier class, Isibéal Conway Kelly and Tara returned to take the win in the 138cm 1m, when they delivered another double clear in 20.67. Jack Dore and Salsa Sugarlump also added to their record, when they took second, when clear in 21.66. A clear from Isolde Jane Tivy and Knocknahorgan Velvet in 22.41 saw them collect third place.

Ruben Foley and Mayfly Green Peter emerged as the winners in the 138cm 1.10m class, when they put in a foot-perfect round in a time of 31.61. Conrad Sweeney opted for the more cautious route with Sakama Chezni and it paid off, as he delivered the only other clear of the class in a time of 33.45. Bonnie Loughrey and Cornhill Snowey proved out of luck with one on the ground, but their time of 34.59 proved good enough for third place.

128cm 85cm

The 128cm 85cm Under 10’s saw 33 combinations battle it out and, from those, 17 booked their place against the clock. Taking this win was DJ Kent and Paris, when they galloped home in a time of 21.72. Sonny McGovern and Parc Giggles also kept the poles in place, albeit in a time of 23 seconds to claim the runner-up spot. Just a half second behind was Alice Steele and Zulus Dream, clear in 23.30 for third place.

DJ Kent was back in the winner’s enclosure, as he took the win in the 128cm 1m. Riding Ger O’Neill’s Castlefield Messie, he lodged the winning round of clear in 30.05. Chloe Clarke and Uquam d’Emery PFS followed closely behind, delivering a clear in 30.63. Last of the double clears in 32.58 and taking third place was Katelyn Horgan and MHS Rebel Pride.

148cm 1m

Connaught also took the win in the 148cm 1m, as Oisin Anderson guided the five-year-old Iceford Miss Doughlas to a clear in 24.23. It was a competitive class with fellow Connaught rider Mark Neilan and Castlelawn Holly II narrowly missing out on the win, when they came home clear in 23.43. Third place also belonged to Connaught rider Anna Gibbons and Toba Hero, when they kept all the poles in place in a time of 25.06.

148cm 1.10m

There was a strong field looking to claim the 148cm 1.10m, with 98 combinations going to post. In the end it was Munster rider Kate Lynch that took the honours. Riding Kilclogher Klassy Lady, the pairing came home clear in 24.62. Leinster rider Anna Sheehan and Ballynoe Lurgan Diamond also stayed within the 24 second marker (24.87) for second. Fellow Leinster rider Katie McGrath and Aherlow Boy, also maintained a clean sheet in 25.10 for third place.

148cm 1.20m

Athlone’s James Derwin left nothing to spare as he was the fastest of five double clears (37.08) aboard Milchem Original in the 148cm 1.20m to take the win. Cian McMunn was less than a second behind with Esperando SK in 38.03 for second. Iseult Fleming was back in the money, this time taking third with Hello Noble Lady, when clear in 38.14.
