THERE was an Irish top-six in Friday’s 1.25m Speed class where the Dutch-bred mare La Joya was guided to victory by owner/rider Alan O’Regan in a time of 65.35.

Helen Harty’s home-bred gelding Young Flex (Flex A Bill x Ballinavella Lad), ridden by her son Hugo, took second place in 65.95. The Sheila White-bred gelding Sambuca H (Simba x Kannan) finished in third place for owner/rider Cian Harrisson, while Lorraine Younge’s Belfieldflight (Errigal Flight x Ballinvella), bred by Denise Marriot and ridden by his owner, slotted into fourth in 68.07.

Nicola FitzGibbon rode her own mare Emily May (Sligo Candy Boy x Cavalier Royale), bred Thomas Dowd, into fifth place, while Daisy McNamara and her mother’s Belgian-bred Caspetito Z were sixth.
