LIMERICK’s Paul O’Shea was in the ribbons at the three-star in Wellington, Florida last Thursday. He emerged victorious in Thursday’s $37,000 FreeJump Qualifier at the three-star ESP Spring Series in Florida.

Riding Squirt Gun, owned by Eye Candy Jumpers, O’Shea topped the class by a margin of nearly three full seconds against 41 international horse-and-rider partnerships representing 17 nations.

O’Shea added to his record when he took runner-up spot in Friday’s FEI $37,000 Nutrena 1.50m Classic. Riding Hellcat, he was one of seven-double clears in a time of 46.50. Claiming victory on this occasion was Brazil’s Santiago Lambre who delivered the winning round of 44.86 aboard All in Horses Cava.

O’Shea took another place in the line-up when he slotted into seventh place with Sexy Beast. One place behind was Sligo’s Darragh Kerins and Intuitive, who was unfortunate to incur two-time faults in the first round.

On Saturday, Kerins took a sixth-place finish in the FEI $140,000 Bainbridge Companies three-star Grand Prix. Riding Carlow JDZ, he was one of six double clears in a time of 40.21. Claiming victory was USA’s Kent Farrinton and Orafina when they stopped the clock in a time of 35.77.
