MICHAEL Duffy has had a great run of form lately and was on the podium again last week, this time at the Equestrian Cup Series at St Tropez in France.

Duffy’s most notable success was in Saturday’s CSI3* 1.45m class, where he finished third riding Claptonn Mouche, with whom he won the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix at Miami Beach. The pair jumped double clear in a jump-off time of 31.03 seconds, only 1.1 seconds off American winner, Giavanne Rinaldo on Mijnheer van de Lentamel (29.93).

Week two of the Equestrian Cup Series at St Tropez started well for Billy Twomey, when he placed fourth in last Thursday’s CSI3* 1.40m Special Two-phase class with Diego Del Caribe. Duffy went one better in the CSI2* 1.40m Special Two-phase class, placing third with RMF Clinton Son.

Friday’s CSI3* 1.45m Special Two-phase class saw Duffy on Claptonn Mouche finish fifth, with a lovely double clear in a jump-off time of 40.54 seconds. Twomey was ninth in the class with Julius.
