SOME 80 combinations lined out to contest the €2,000 1.35m North Star Classic on Thursday at Barnadown, run in conjunction with the Irish Breeders’ Classic. Run as a two-phase class, 25 of the original starters maintained clear rounds. Taking the win was Harry Wood riding Max O’Reilly Hyland’s BP Limitless (Elvis Ter Putte x Laughton’s Flight) when they came home in a time of 29.92 seconds.
Less than a second separated the next position as Shane O’ Reilly and Brian McConville’s Lancer Luck crossed the line in a time of 30.63. Junior rider Jack Kent and Origi Van De Bandam were fractions behind, clocking 30.71 for third place. Kent was chased home by Paul Beecher and Glamstone, as they galloped home in 30.75 seconds for fourth.
