IT was a good day for Patrick Whelan, as he claimed victory in the earlier 1.25m Kenny Fuels-sponsored class. This time riding Lisa Cash’s Eskola M, he took the win when double clear in 29.52 seconds.

Sven Hadley made his trip worthwhile, as he claimed the next two placings, as well as fifth. He delivered his best result with HSH Harper Du Seigneur, coming home clear in 29.59. He was fractions behind with his second mount, Maximum Numero Too HSH. Riding Lackaghmore Zirocco, he came home with nothing to add in 33.58 for fifth place.
