CAVAN Equestrian played host to the second round of the Young Rider and Children on Horses Dubin Horse Show qualifiers last Saturday with large numbers being recorded in each category. For the first time, the young rider’s qualifier was not held on the same weekend as the pony qualifiers.
In the 1.35m-1.40m, a total of 42 went to post and, from those, seven triple clears were delivered. Taking the first ticket was Connaught rider Paddy Reape and Mr Rocky Blue when they came home in 36.76 seconds. Wexford rider Lauren Adams was only fractions behind with Quina DW when they stopped the clock in a time of 36.82. Emily Moloney’s calculated riding saw her partner Temple Alice to a qualifying spot, when she came home in 37.11 for third. Cáit Kenny stayed within the 38-second barrier aboard Good Guy D’Authuit, clocking 37.63 for eventual fourth. Lauren Adams returned to the line-up taking fifth with Caddie Z, when clocking 38.12. Jenny Dunlop and Questro Z completed the top six in 38.15.
