THE Gills Driving School, Premier Performance Connaught Show jumping 1.20m League class held at Tubberbride saw 49 combinations go to post and the class went down to the wire, with 27 delivering double clears. No stranger to success in this league, Zaid Ali Raad, took another win when he clocked 35.90 with the Hibernia Horses-owned, D’Extase DH Z. Ali Raad added to his tally as he also took third with the John Chadwick-owned BE Flygold, crossing the line in 40.15. Dividing his placings was Orla Dixon and Ravens Mister Rolo, when they stopped the clock in 37.43. Shane Goggins also added to his point tally, taking fourth with Dynamite Dougie, when galloping home in 41.07. Young rider Edward Feeney and Miss Jones came home in 41.55 for fifth place, ahead of junior rider Lily P Slattery and Captain Candy Man, who clocked 41.62 for sixth.
It was a good outing for Orla Dixon, as she took the win in the Flexineb By Nortev Connaught Show jumping 1.10m League class. Riding Ravens Mister Rolo, she clocked the winning round of clear in 26.79. Junior rider Ella Rush was closest to catching the winner, delivering a clear with Beach Buggy in 28.26. Amateur rider Aisling Foody (AA) took third with Innisfree Flight, clear in 30.44, while in fourth was Richard Kerins and Cloverhills Trendsetter, clear in 30.49. Fifth place belonged to amateur rider, Tara Brandon (AA) and Bec Phoenix, clear in 30.93, ahead of Tina Stephenson and Garryduff Captain Coolio, clear in 31.22.
