ALONGSIDE a packed schedule of international and national horse classes, the Mullingar CSI2* Show also hosted a prestigious programme of pony competitions, attracting many of the country’s leading young riders.
On Saturday, Jack Dore took the win in the €1,000 138cm 1.10m Masters Final, when he galloped home in 34.51 aboard Hastag Alis. Dore was chased home by Ruby Kelly and Little Red Barron, who kept all the poles in place in 35.47. Ruby took another share of the prize fund, when she partnered the six-year-old, RWS It’s the Game Changer to a clear in 37.50 for third. A clear from Blathnaid Murphy and Orchid’s Serata in 38.74, proved good enough for eventual fourth, while in fifth was Joe Widger and Poynstown Penny, in 39.50. Completing the top six was Taylor-Grace Nolan Gee and Matilda II in 40.17.
