CHEVAL Riding Club chairperson and Treasurer Maria Carrick and Geraldine Dempsey were delighted to welcome Owen McGrath of the Fingal Sports Office to the clubs crowds in Jordanstown last Monday week to officially present a pole trailer and wing wagon which were purchased with the support of the Fingal County Council Large Sports Equipment Grant.

The club receives €4,000 in funding from Fingal Sports office towards this equipment which has been on the club’s wishlist for a considerable time. This equipment will considerably reduce the burden of course building and moving fences about for club volunteers. Previously the task was very manual.

The club have tried in recent years to replace the stock of old heavy fences, but the addition of the two trailer wagon is a massive time saver and reduces the burden of manual lifting on club members. Fingal County Council not only provide sports equipment grants to clubs in the locality and last week three members of Cheval were able to avail of free first aid training along with 17 other representatives of local clubs in the Fingal Area.
