THE inaugural Pony Club Nations Cup of Eventing, which is being staged at the Ballindenisk international horse trials later this month (24th to 28th), has generated a lot of interest among members of Branches throughout Ireland and Great Britain.

Competitions will take place at 1* and 2* levels in the long format. While the Irish Pony Club still has to finalise its two teams and Area 17 has yet to name its PC110 squad, the following five riders have been selected to represent Northern Ireland at PC105 level: Mid Antrim’s Hannah Thompson with the 15-year-old traditionally-bred Irish Sport Horse gelding Jemeela Charm (Loughry Lad - Night Fire, by Perpendicular), East Antrim’s Cayleigh Erwin with the 14-year-old gelding Murph (who has no recorded pedigree), North Down’s Lauren McGlennon with the 13-year-old ISH gelding Ferros Kandy (S Creevagh Ferro - Killossery Kandida, by Crosstown Dancer), East Antrim’s Erin McCrea with the 18-year-old Hanoverian mare Eisfee (Embassy I - Finale, by Foxhunter) and Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester’s Jessica Rogers with the six-year-old ISH gelding Shannaghmore Skys The Limit (Future Trend - Lighting Stricks, by Merry Mate).
