THE Cavan Elite Foal Auction held on Thursday night during the indoor championships saw the sale topper attracting a whopping €48,000. This was Lot 23, Crosskeys, a chesnut colt by Kafka VD Heffinck out of Jumeirah (Ard VDL Douglas). He was sold to Freestyling Farm in the USA, run by Sligo native Trevor Gaffney, for €48,000. The next top price of €32,000 was paid by international show jumper Jordan Coyle for Lot 28, Berkleys Farm’s Berkleys Californication, a bay colt by last year’s sale-topping sire, United Touch S.
