THE four-year-old Championship at Mullingar saw 24 qualified combinations go to post on Saturday in a bid to lay their claim to the €750 prize fund. Taking the win was Olive Clarke on the Ivor Broderick-owned KMS Rozemarijn when they were awarded a score of 117 marks by judges Dot Love and David Harrison. This mare is by Carrera Vdl out of the Baltic VDL-sired Klavertje.
Speaking afterwards, Clarke said: “I am delighted with the win she is a super scopey mare. She was broken by Paul Lynch and we did a bit with her at the start of the year and let her off for a break. She hasn’t much mileage and we had contemplated doing the RDS qualifiers but decided not to rush her. Mullingar was the perfect opportunity to get her out and it went our way.
