DOWN’S Conor Swail was on form once again when competing at Thermal in California over the weekend. Not only did he secure placings in individual classes, but his team also finished on the podium in the five-star Major League Show Jumping team competition.
The best of Swail’s individual results was with Theo 160, when they finished as runners-up in Saturday’s five-star $62,500 1.50m Winning Round class when double clear in a second-round time of 34.17 - less than a second behind Colombia’s Mark Bluman on Phelina de Septon (33.33). Roberto Teran Tafur, also from Colombia, and Condar took third place. The best 10 of the 33 starters proceeded to the ‘winning round’, where four managed to jump double clear.
