ONLY two combinations contested the EI115 (Open) at Clyda, with Penwhistle (ISH)(TIH) and Neilus O’Donoghue taking the spoils, ahead of Rock Eclipse (ISH) and Michael Ryan. O’Donoghue was second after dressage on 34.1 to which he added four show jumping penalties to finish on 38.1. This nine-year-old son of Island Commander (USA)(TB), bred by Edward Ryan, had his last outing in the Connolly’s Red Mills CCI3*-S, where he finished 15th and, before that, he was third in the EI115 (Open) at Hillcrest.
Ryan opened his account on 31.6, but 12.8 cross-country time penalties saw him finish on 44.4. Eleven-year-old Rock Eclipse is by Chinook Eclipse (USA)(TB), was bred by Walter Coady and is owned by Patricia Ryan.
