OUTSIDE of the five-star action at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials, Ireland’s Susie Berry had a super second-place finish in the five-year-old young event horse class riding Ron and Catherine Pearson’s Purple Rain (by Poker De Mariposa TN). The competitive class was won by Piggy March riding Quantum Leap.
Caroline Powell rode Chris Mann’s ISH gelding WLS Ravencourt (by Cristo bred by Gwen Kinsella) into fourth place here, as well as her own Cornascriebe Lockdown (ISH by Orestus bred by Carol Armstrong) into seventh.
