IRISH Olympian Kevin Babington continues to make strides in his recovery following a life-changing riding accident in August 2019. The Tipperary native, who finished fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens with the great Carling King, was left paralysed after a horrific fall at the Hampton Classic Horse Show.
A hugely determined individual, Kevin is working hard on his rehab and has hopes of walking and indeed riding again. The commitment to his daily physical therapy and frequent stem cell and other medical interventions continues at a torrid pace. Kevin can now move all his toes on each foot and independently, and has some flexion in his feet. In an update, the family said: “We all look forward to the day he stands to deliver the leading rider award at Silver Oak.”
