WELL done to Heather Ahearne who was awarded the Robert Condon Perpetual Cup at Goatenbridge Gymkhana.
The fourth leg of the Mackeys Amateur League was hosted at Goatenbridge Gymkhana last Sunday in what turned out to be a very exciting jump-off across a well thought out course built by John Flynn.
Des Hourigan (A) was first to post a double clear in 36.21 for eventual sixth place. Next in was Heather Ahearne (A) on Comeragh’s Joker and posted a brave and lightning fast round in the rain, taking out a stride to the last vertical in 28.85 seconds.
This wouldn’t be caught, despite excellent rounds by Sarah Kate O’Donovan (AA) 29.33 for second, John Fennell (A) 30.75 for third, Hannah McNiven (AA) 32.84 for fourth and Martine Nolan (A)34.08 for fifth.
The winner of the Mackey Ambassor prize was local Anna Fee who had a cracking second round round with an unlucky four faults.
Always a great venue, the Goatenbridge committee pulled out all the stops in what was an excellent run gymkhana with perpetual cups and trophies for winners, excellent ground conditions and well supported classes throughout.
