ALL who attended the March edition of the West Workshops in Showing and Dressage at Duffy’s Equestrian Centre last Sunday had a very enjoyable day, with the judges complimenting the beautifully turned out ponies/horses and riders.

Congratulations to this month’s winners of the Best Turnout prize, Charlotte Osborne (under 16) and Lauren Kerins (over 16), both taking home rugs sponsored by Andrew Cahill International Horse Transport.

The organisers thanked the coaches who gave their expertise and commented on how much the partnerships had improved as the series has progressed thanks to their hard work at home.

In the ridden section, Siobhan Cazabon and Joe Burke helped prepare and refine rider and horse combinations, whilst Robbie Fallon gave advice on both handler, pony’s presentation and action in-hand.

Margaret Walsh gave pointers on how to best influence the rider’s seat to improve the horse’s way of going. Meanwhile, indoors, Tommy Peoples gave instruction to riders on their way of going over a course of fences and their jumping technique.

In the dressage arena, Judy Cazabon oversaw the many tests, giving feedback, encouragement and tips to take home and work on.

The final workshop to help prepare riders for the showing season ahead will take place on Sunday, April 21st, in Duffy’s Equestrian Centre, Claregalway. For more information and details, contact Judy Cazabon on 083 388 8135.
