FOREVER associated with the Scarteen Hunt, Knocklong was the venue for the presentation of a cheque for €22,000 by the hunt to the Milford Care Centre. The funds had been raised by the sale of hunt prints which were based on pictures painted by the famed late hunting artist, John King.

The prints were presented to the hunt by John Ferguson, John’s son-in-law and then joint master of the hunt. John Ferguson had come from Goffs where he was one of the major buyers at the Orby Sale where, as usual, he featured in the top 10 purchasers.
