AREA 17’s Tetrathlon qualifier for The Pony Club championships was hosted last weekend by the East Antrim Branch and, as has been the case in recent years, an invitation was extended to the Irish Pony Club to compete in the Lough Neagh Challenge between both organisations.
The Challenge not only serves to make the competition more viable for the host Branch but also produces some friendly rivalry while lifelong friendships are formed. Last weekend, the IPC’s chairman of Tetrathlon, John Flood, led a 72-strong squad to Co Antrim where the running and cross-country riding phases took place at Ballyvannon with the shooting and swimming phases being held at Antrim Forum.
