THE Irish Association of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society held their AGM and Awards Night at the Aherlow Glen Hotel last Saturday. This new location had a touch of magic to it which was very well received by everyone. It was wonderful to hear the squeals and hoots of laughter from children and adults alike watching the magician.

The top Show Jumping pony was Dale Adams’ Brandon Reepicheep with 290 Welsh performance points, ridden by Lauren Adams, and the top mini show jumper was Daphne Scholts’ Section C Rookery Fizz with 133 points, ridden by Paddy Byrne – this combination also took the top mini Working Hunter and the Overall Section C. Sarah Keane’s Brimstone Bowman was the second-placed Section C, also taking the Working Hunter Award, with Gareth Baillie’s C stallion Llamri Twmsion Cati and Laurie Way Kearon’s medal winning Amcis Top Tottie completing the Section C line up.
