Review of inspections underway
PASSPORT issuing organisations have begun contacting breeders to complete an IFAC survey with the aim to identify challenges, opportunities and best practices; to benchmark what is done well at studbook inspections; what can be improved upon, and to enhance the transparency, fairness, and consistency of inspections. IFAC are completing the independent review of the studbook inspection processes on behalf of Horse Sport Ireland, under National Breeding Services which is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine. The Department of Agriculture approved studbooks who are participating in this research are Connemara Pony Studbook, Irish Cob and Irish Part-Bred Cob Studbooks, Irish Draught Horse Studbook, Irish Sport Horse Studbook, Irish Sport Pony Studbook, and Kerry Bog Pony Studbook.
To complete the online survey, go to research.net/r/HorseSportIrelandInspectionProcess. The survey will take approximately 8-10 minutes to complete and the deadline for completion is May 26th.
