Celebration of Liz Sanford

LIZ Sanford of Drumree, Meath and a founding member of Meath Riding Club, died last week. A Service of thanksgiving to celebrate Liz’s life was due to take place today, Saturday, February 7th, at 11am in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Loman Street, Trim. According to Meath Riding Club: “Liz was a very active and successful member of the club in her younger years, she was very accomplished both side saddle and astride and she was also very gifted at driving (she and her little black pony Christopher were a sight to see in harness). Liz kept a huge interest in the club throughout her life, including holding every job in the committee at some point and most recently serving as chairperson from 2009-2011. She helped enormously when we came to do a booklet to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the club in 2023. She recalled those days with genuine fondness and mirth and often said they were among the best days of her life. Our sincere condolences to her family and close friends.”
