THIS coming weekend sees Cooley Farm’s one-off auction of 27 of their breeding mares and youngstock. Due to a change in direction of the business, they have decided to focus more on their up-and-running horses, and time is simply no longer allowing them to continue with their breeding programme.

Broodmare lots include Killossery Konsuion, a mare from one of the most successful families in Ireland. She is a full-sister to FTS Killossery Konfusion, who is jumping at 1.60m with Jos Verlooy, and a half-sister to Killossery Kaiden, World Champion with Ger O’Neill.

Also offered is J’Taime Cooley who herself competed successfully as a young horse and has already produced very successful offspring. She is also a half-sister to the world famous Zigali PS who was campaigned by Eric Lamaze. She has already produced successful off spring competing at 1.40m level.

Many of the youngstock are out of mares that have already produced proven progeny in the sport of eventing. Bloodlines include SIEC Livello, Ramiro B, Colandro, OBOS Quality, Cruising and Je T’aime Flamenco

Speaking about the upcoming auction, Richard Sheane said: “This is a one-off opportunity to purchase young Cooley stock that have been bred with performance, modern sport and pedigree in mind.”

Cooley horses dominate the world of eventing and a significant mark in the world of show jumping. Home-bred Keep It Cooley ridden by Wills Oakden in the UK has an incredible record - including wins at every level he has competed and has won at 4* level as a 10-year-old.

Other auction lots include full siblings to world class event horses Must be Cooley and Cooley DNA, along with close relations to many top Cooley horses.

The auction will run from 6pm on Saturday, May 31st to 8pm on Monday, June 2nd.
