European team silver medallist Ian Cassells is the best-placed Irish rider after dressage among the six-year-olds at the FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses at Le Lion D’Angers in France. Riding the Patrick Murphy-owned, Eugene McEntee-bred ISH Rutland Flamenco (Casallco x Je T’aime Flamenco), Cassells notched up just 28.9 penalties in the first phase. This puts him in eighth place, just under five penalties adrift of the overnight leader, Germany’s Julia Krajewski. In the seven-year-old division, Robbie Kearns is the best-placed Irish rider in 15th with Belline Thistle Bethelasttime.
