BALLYMENA’s Charlotte Dixon was lying third with her newcomer Irish Amigo (28.8) following the dressage phase of the EI90 but was left in the lead when both the David O’Connor-ridden House Elf (26.3) and the Victoria Clarke-partnered Carrick Diamond Connie (28.3) had a fence down show jumping.
Dixon, who was a second over the time on the final phase, was delighted to win on the tall five-year-old Irish Amigo, who is by the United Arab Emirates-bred thoroughbred stallion Waveney (a son of Green Desert). The bay was bred in Co Offaly by Joe Neville out of the Coolcorron Cool Diamond mare An Cat Rua.
