SHOW JUMPING: HSI names pony show jumping squad for Europeans

The Gain Equine Nutrition Irish pony show jumping squad has been named for the European Championships taking place in Poland next month

HORSE Sport Ireland Pony Show Jumping High Performance Director Gary Marshall has named his GAIN Equine Nutrition Pony (U16) squad for the 2021 European Championships that take place from August 11th to 15th at Strzegom in Poland.

The Gain Equine Nutrition Pony squad in alphabetical order is:

James Brennan with MHS Glow (ISH) – 2013 grey mare by Dondoctro Ryal K (KWPN) out of Limitless(ISH) by Cruising (ISH) . Bred by Ita Brennan, Kilkenny. Owner: Sinead Brennan

James Derwin with Cul Ban Mistress (CP) – 2008 grey mare by Silver Shadow (ISH) out of Cloneenagh Lass (CP) by Dunloughan Lad (CP). Bred by Barry Connaire. Owner: Jim Derwin

Katie McEntee with Ardfry Skye (CP) – 2007 grey mare by Cashel Bay Prince (CP) out of Ross Castle Ardfry Fuschia (CP). Owner: Coolmore Showjumping

Ellen Power with Ghost Rider (UNK) – 2002 grey gelding Owner: Powers Equine Ltd

Coen Williams with Dun the Business 2008 Grey Filly. Sire: It’s the business. Dam: Valence. Owners: Williams Sport Horses Ltd.

Young and talented

HSI Pony Show Jumping High Performance Director Gary Marshall said: “This is a very young team going to the Europeans. It is a first Europeans for the whole team but I am very confident that they will do very well. They are a great bunch of talented athletes who will do themselves, their country and our sponsors Gain Equine Nutrition proud.”
