THE cool and calm European champion Max Wachman said he felt very little pressure when going into the arena to secure team gold for Ireland at last week’s European championships, but that is no surprise when you see the hard work and dedication he has put in to the sport, as well as the support team the youngster has around him.

Hailing from Cashel in Co Tipperary, Wachman won an individual silver medal in 2018 with the amazing mare Cuffesgrange Cavalidam and, speaking to The Irish Field this week, said: “I felt pressure at the start of the week to try and do something similar to last year. When it got down to the second round and jump-off, I was fine.”
