RUNNER-UP in the 1.35m Autumn Grand Prix at the recent Portmore Autumn Championships, Yvonne Whiteside upped the ante to claim victory in the 1.35m Henry Murray Grand Prix at The Meadows last Sunday. Riding her own Ecclesville, she was the fastest of five double clears in a time of 35.24 seconds.

Bred by Wilson Newberry, the 13-year-old gelding is an Irish Sport Horse by Clover Echo out of the Tyrone Diamond-sired Maisy. Whiteside, who is from Co Down, is busy with her own yard where she keeps 11 horses, some of which are her own and others that she rides for different clients. In the mornings she rides out for Noel McParlan on the gallops. Her mother Elaine helps with the running of the yard at home.
