TWO of the major winners at last Sunday’s fixture at Punchestown have been reviewed here before, but the third of the big races was the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase in which Shantou Flyer recorded his first blacktype success.

This was a fourth win from seven starts over fences for the Colin Bowe-trained five-year-old, and the son of Burgage Stud stallion Shantou (by Alleged) is a €28,000 Goffs Land Rover Sale graduate who was bred by Tom McCarthy.
