HAILED as a ‘game-changer’ and a ‘blueprint’ for the Irish Sport Horse industry at its launch in 2015, the Reaching New Heights (2015-2025) vision for the sector has reached its five-year midpoint. Widely welcomed by key stakeholders Horse Sport Ireland, the RDS and Teagasc after a public consultation process, it contained some 41 key recommendations encompassing breeding, competition, tourism and education, with the ultimate aim of maximising job creation and the untapped potential in the sector.

Spawned by the Reaching New Heights (RNH), the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine went on to commission the Indecon Review into the structure of Horse Sport Ireland in 2016 and that comprehensive review was published in June 2017.
