THERE were no senior all-Ireland medals for Offaly this year but the midlands county punched well above its weight when it came to golf and show jumping.

Shane Lowry was a household name before his victory in The Open at Royal Portrush in July, while Darragh Kenny has become known beyond the confines of equestrianism following a year which saw him compete throughout the world, recording international victories most months from January through to December.
