TWO of the three winners of this year’s Irish Sport Horse Studbook eventing series leagues were produced in the Northern Region, the odd one out being Derena Super Star. Ridden by Co Kilkenny-based British international Daniel Alderson for owner Richard Ames, the grey topped the six-year-old leaderboard with 18 points. The gelded son of Womanizer amassed these when winning the first of six legs of the EI110 level league at Rosanna on May 19th and when runner-up to his stable-companion, Belline Warrenstown Cruz, in the second leg at Killossery Lodge (2) on June 8th.

Derena Super Star was bred in Milltown, Co Cavan by Francis Tubman out of the Aldatus Z mare Miss Dallas who, being out of the Flagmount Diamond mare Frank’s Diamond Cavalier, is a full-sister to KEC Romeo (CSI3*).
