This muscular, mature, flashy chesnut with four white feet made the running and accelerated smartly over the last quarter mile to open up a gap of six lengths on his rivals.

Ravisseur has a fast ground action so I’m happy to excuse his two turf flops on soft ground. On his only other all weather start, he again made the running and looked set to score until tiring in the last furlong and getting beat into second by a subsequent group winner. The way his stride shortened there tells me he didn’t quite last the seven and a half furlongs.
