Hide And Seek, although vulnerable to an unexposed newcomer, sets a reasonable standard in this opening contest.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained five-year-old has been placed on her two most recent outings, including when third over course and distance last time.

On the latter occasion, she arguably paid the price late on after chasing a highly regarded novice for much of the race. If anything, that run can be upgraded slightly and having still only had the four career starts she remains open to improvement.

Dual bumper winner Beret Rouge would also hold leading claims here if taking up the engagement. The daughter of Big Bad Bob was due to run at Ballinrobe on Friday night so may not be eligible should she win at the Co Mayo track.

However, if she were to turn out quickly, she is undoubtedly a decent hurdler who would be very much involved.

Life In The Park can bring up a quick double for the Henry de Bromhead yard. An unlucky loser on his point-to-point debut, he finished third in a decent maiden hurdle on his first start under rules.

Although his latest run at Leopardstown appears somewhat disappointing, he had excuses on that occasion so it seems safe to disregard that form. He should have too much class for this opposition and can record his first win on the track.

Butty O Brien, who shaped well on her hurdling debut at Navan, could be the chief threat. The daughter of Mustameet kept on well having raced prominently; a trait that will serve her well around this tighter track. It is a definite plus that Eoin Walsh, who was on board last time, retains the ride in this conditionals’ race.

Craic Eile, a dual course winner over hurdles, can record his third win here. He steps up in trip now but shapes as though he will appreciate the extra distance. Shane Fitzgerald, who has been on board for both previous wins, is back in the saddle and this contest has almost certainly been the plan for some time.

Despite a slight worry about his lack of a recent run, the Ken Budds-trained gelding is the obvious choice.

Kells Priory, a shock winner at Gowran Park in January, backed that run up when third at the same track next time. A below par effort subsequently raises concerns regarding his ability to be as effective elsewhere but if handling Tramore he should play a leading role in this modest company.

Mr Incredible blotted his copybook when refusing to race last time but looks the class act if consenting to race.

The mere fact that connections chose to run him in Grade 1 company says plenty about how highly regarded he is. Providing he jumps off with the field, he should have a big class advantage against most rivals.

A return to winning ways could see him step back into a higher grade at Punchestown later this month.

Popong, a stablemate of the selection, should be the one to follow him home. The Subtle Power mare tends to run well fresh, so the lack of a recent run is not a big concern.

It is interesting that she makes her return here rather than wait for Punchestown in a couple of weeks.

Pat Coyne can continue the dominance of local trainers on this card by following up a recent course-and-distance success. The John Queally-trained gelding has been remarkably consistent in recent runs and looks sure to make a bold bid once again.

His style of racing means that he only just does enough, so the handicapper may not have his measure just yet.

Envol Pierji, a maiden hurdle winner at this track, has yet to reach the same standard over fences. However, he has hinted on a few occasions that he is getting things together, so perhaps, a return to Tramore may bring about the desired improvement.

SELECTION: PAT COYNE

Itsalonglongroad could be the answer on his first run for the Ian O’Connor yard. A three-time course winner, he is fit from the flat and has joined a trainer that does well with his recruits from other stables. A front-runner who is suited to the tight turns of Tramore, if Shane Fitzgerald can get an uncontested lead, he could take plenty of catching.

Clody Valley, a consistent maiden, should run his race once again. Third here last August, he went on to finish second on his next two runs before disappointing on his final start of the year. He has run well fresh in the past so an absence is no great concern.

True Light, a half-sister to US Grade 1-placed French Light, is an interesting runner on her debut. Her sibling is at his best on faster ground, so provided the rain stays away then she must have leading claims of going in at the first time of asking. Willie Mullins often brings a decent bumper mare to this track for their introduction, so she will attract plenty attention.

Glory Liss, who finished second on her debut at Cork last time, represents the strongest form of those that have already raced. Local trainer John Kiely will have her cherry ripe for this assignment and she will know about with the Cork experience behind her.

SELECTION: TRUE LIGHT
